Course description: The aim of the course is for students to learn basic German grammar and word formation in conjunction with speaking, listening, writing and reading. The development of reading strategies, oral communication including hosting, and cross cultural competence will also be emphasized. Further on I will stress the acquisition of foreign language learning strategies. The course is taught accordingly to the European reference frame for foreign language acquisition. After one year the levels A1 and A2 should be reached and any German 2 course of National Taiwan University suits for further studies.
During the first academic year chapters 1-12 of book 1 will be taught.
Course requirements: Regular work on assignments, regular attendance, a short quiz (test) after each chapter, 1 oral midterm and 1 final written exam.
